Tommy refused to bathe. Spit at me and complained. I told him he owed me one chore from the chore jar (standard punishment over here) and he not only spit at me again, he screamed at me. “No! I won’t do any chores! You can’t make me.” I got frustrated and left him in the bathroom just as Dad came stopmping in after listening to the interaction. Don’t know what they said to each other but Tommy is now resting in the bathe as if it were a spa. So, soon I’ll ask him to get out and we’ll repeat the scene.

Sunday, February 8th, 2004Tommy acting like a idiot for his mother right now. Very oppositional. She is trying to get him to do something “tom… Tom… TOM… Tom..” and he is screeching and running around (awkwardly of course because he is large and not very dexterous) He just screamed “yeah yu yu yea yu” I can picture him flapping his arms wildly. This is a horrible example for his baby sister…or for his 10 yr old sister and 7 yr old brother for that matter.
This of course is over him not wanting to take a bath.

Sunday, February 8th, 2004Tommy is starting to get a bit wacky. I’m going upstairs now to ask him to bathe. He usually protests getting in, then stays forever and protests getting out.

Sunday, February 8th, 2004Tommy is on the wife’s computer and has that blasted leg shake thing going. It’s so distracting out of the corner of the eye that I can’t work. ( I tried looking that up. Couldn’t find it. )
He just finished up on the computer on his own. Hmm.
Tommy’s Afternoon
Sunday, February 8th, 2004Tommy went to the neighbor’s house and stayed outside swinging on his swing. At least he was wearing jeans and a coat. He then went to “his friend’s” house and immediately came home. Now he’s playing Playstation.

Sunday, February 8th, 2004Tommy went to see if a child his own age could play and got distracted when he saw our adult neighbor outside and switched to talk to him. It’s ok since his guests are gone.

Sunday, February 8th, 2004Doug got crafty and somehow got Tommy working on a chair that had some loose parts. Tommy thinks it’s fun (a game?) and we’re just happy because he’s not sleeping or playing a computer game. Good job Doug!

Sunday, February 8th, 2004Trying to find things for Tommy to do that doesn’t require adult supervision or constant encouragement is difficult. However, if it involves tools, he is always gung-ho. He has now fixed the glider so that the arms are no longer loose. This helped the family and gave Tommy a sense of accomplishment.
Now to rack the head for more such projects.
