Tommy had a good day at school. Claims the bus ride went well but adds that he is getting switched to a different bus next week. Coincidence? I think not. Tommy played happily all afternoon and then went for his Friday night at the grandparents. When I called to check on him he was playing on grandfather’s computer.

Came home from the outing with Sarah to find Tommy sitting on the couch reading his D&D manual (for the millionth time). He broke out in smile when he realized I had donuts with me. He sat on the couch reading and pacing until I asked him to watch for the bus. He then decided to sit on the porch and wait. I think he just didn’t want me telling him what to do any more. He left for school happy and enthusiastic about the day.

This spot is warm!

We ask Tommy to move to the other end of the couch and watch for his bus. His response is a biting “I can see it fine from here.” To which, I firmly say “move” and he replies “this spot is warm!” When he finally moves it becomes apparent that he has shoved his Dungeons and Dragons Player’s Handbook betweent he cushions with intention on sneaking it to school. He recoved from his aggrivation at being “busted” quickly.

Dad reports This Morning:
With Sarah and Mom up and moving about since 5, there was too energy in the house. Not only did Noah rise 40 minutes before he needed to get up, Tommy awoke on his own at 6:25. His sister’s radio program was on at 6:36 so I sat the 2 boys down at the table and at 6:35 I had them pay attention but did not reveal what was going on. The radio announcer speaks their sister’s full name and they both sit up straight and their eyes bug out. Tommy listens for a second and says “Is she there now?!” What was interesting to observe was with Sarah 20 minutes away from the house, Tommy still wanted to be the center of attention ( Dad being somewhat facetious with that statement ) and several times tried to break into conversation. Granted, he was excited and each time was in response to something said.

He has had a good morning.
