I finished reading “Haze” today. It is a quick, easy read and the plot is only there to tie the characters together. The plot is not really what the book is about though. It’s about people who with or without a diagnosis have purpose and meaning in life. It’s well worth the read. I handed it over to Tommy and he was noticably unimpressed by the description on the back. Compared to the heavy fantasy stuff he’s been reading lately it should be alight read for him except for the familiarity with one of the characters. If he’ll just give it a try I’d like to know what he thinks.

My Amazon.com order came in yesterday. I’m going to read “Haze” and “Of Mice and Aliens” by Kathy Hoopmann before I give them to Tommy to read. I also bought Zanadu for Sarah to watch. As I was looking over my three shiny new toys I realized they have something in common. I’m not saying what it is, but I put the links in to help you solve the puzzle.

Met the grandparents at the mall to pick up two children. Asked how Tommy’s visit was and got the same answer we always get. “He was fine.” I let Tommy look at all the summer camp exhibitors who had set up exhibits in the mall for today only. He collected pencils, stickers and brochures from camps that would never allow him to attend. Came home and he immediately grabbed his knapsack of stuff and set out to wander the neighborhood seeking a playmate. Any minute now he’ll return, dejected.

A New Day!

Dad reports This Morning:
He was with the grandparents. Picked him up at the mall. He tried some “me! me! me!” attention stunts but upon everyone ignoring him turned nice. Was rewarded with the purchase of some Dungeons & Dragons dice. He’s happy but I sense he wants to have 1 fit today.
