Tommy overstimulated from group theraphy fought to hold it together this evening.

Went past his medication time due to being out a Dr Suess’ birthday party at Barnes & Noble where he kept himself together in a noisy, chaotic environment. Very good Tommy!

At the house he became more ornery.

I picked up Tommy from school and found out he had snuck his D&D stuff to school even though I specifically told him not do so. Took him to therapy and he did better than last time but still had to have some time-outs for immature behaviors. He got to choose dinner so we drove through Sonic before heading to Barnes & Noble for some Dr.Suess’s birthday activities. He and Dad seemed to be on each others’ nerves a lot tonight. Got home quite late and now he’s refusing to get out of the bath and go to bed.

Dad reports This Morning:
Medicine at 6:20. Ushered awake at 6:30. Tommy was told “eat breakfast then get dressed” Tommy got dressed then ate breakfast. Tommy declared “I left my math book. I can’t do my homework.” When I mentioned the worksheet and writing asssignment he retorted that those were “done in class.”
I had set a pair of jeans aside for him but he went down and found another because I forgot to hand him the ones I picked out. He also picked out his own socks. He was on the bus before I returned home from carpool.

Mood: defensive

Dad reports Yesterday Evening:
Tommy was not the center of attention and this bothered him terribly. His brother was building a pinewood derby with Dad so Tommy kept coming out to ask stupid questions, anything to draw the attention from his sibling, and was eventually told not to come outside. His jealously was evident because he pulled out my old Boy Scout Field Guide. He forgot his math book and therefore could not do his homework. The standing consequence is no playtime because before you play your homework must be done. He did not think this was fair at all! He and I had several run-ins but never shouting contests.
