People are bullying me at school. Yesterday they kept kicking me in gym. Today people were just plain mean to me. Yesterday, they were making fun of mommy. Also, they kept flipping me off and cursing at me. Erin Roberts kept throwing pencils and broken pieces of radio antennas. It is mostly boys, but there are some girls. It is happening in gym, math, reading, and science. Also, when I told Mr. Vaughn, the gym teacher, he just told me to tell Mrs. Wallace, the Special Ed. teacher. I do not want him fired or anything, he is really nice, but I wish he would do something about it. Mrs. Wallace said she would try to find out why this is happening. Also, today I got in trouble for cussing and flipping people off in science, so I want to know how to let out my frustration. I want to have friends, but it seems like no one else wants to know anybody except thier boyfriend/girlfriend!!!!!

Wednesday, March 10th, 2004Tommy decided to curse at and flip off the children who were teasing. Of course the other children had the good sense not to do things while the teacher was looking so they all denied doing anything. Anyone who knows Tommy knows he doesn’t attack people for no reason. The teachers are all mad at Tommy now and the other kids are probably thrilled about what they are getting away with doing. I am LIVID. Livid with Tommy for acting this way and livid that the teachers are too stupid to realize that he’s being tormented.

Wednesday, March 10th, 2004Tommy went to bed calmly. This morning he had a hundred excuses not to get moving but he finally did. He seemed happy when he walked to he bus with the case full of cookies that his teacher and driver ordered. I told him he didn’t need to solicit cookie sales for his sister but he said “Maybe she’ll like me better after I do.” I tried to get Sarah to recognize Tommy’s efforts but she coldly commented that he’d just do something mean and mess it all up so she wouldn’t give him a break. Sad and frustrating. She has therapy this afternoon. I wish the therapist could make a pitch for Tommy’s case.
The teacher called in response to my note. Said that there is no bullying going on which I don’t believe. Then she “suggested” that Tommy repeat 8th grade. No surprise there. They told us at the end of 7th grade that they’d be recommending 2 years in the 8th grade. I wish we could have an uninvolved party observe and give some input here. My gut feeling is that in the end they’re going to talk us into this because they have no high school program prepared for Tommy. I feel like we’re being molded to fit the system instead of the system changing to fit Tommy.
