Tommy had a massive meltdown in the soccer parking lot. Declared he wanted food “now”. He screamed and cried about every little thing. When I finally got to go sit down at the field I felt like I had been hit by a train. Without Doug here to talk to I tried text messaging him some of the thoughts racing through my brain. He got angry at me for trying to have a serious conversation when he was working. Now he’s angry, Tommy’s angry and I am just depressed.

Wednesday, March 24th, 2004Tommy had D&D manual on the brain at McKays. I couldn’t get him to look at any books to read just for fun. When he didn’t immediately find exactly what he wanted he nearly had a melt-down in the store. “Mom, I want to get some of my books and sell them for cash and go buy the right manual. Now!” A nice man in the store pointed out to Tommy that the books didn’t need to be the exactly same version. Tommy relaxed and is now absorbed in the manuals. He hasn’t even gotten out of the car he’s so caught up in the books. Just as well, we have to leave in half an hour for soccer practice and the less changes for Tommy, the better.
