Our Aspergers Teenage Boy

Mom reports: Tommy is over-tired and over-frustrated. He has lots of work still to do but it will have to wait. Doug pushes him to too hard psychologically and physically. How to treat Tommy continues to be the number one cause of tension and bickering between Doug and I. I don’t expect him to treat Tommy the same as I do but we should at least be on the same page.

Mom reports: We’ve been wrestling with Tommy over his homework for more than 6 hours now. It is time to give up and work more tomorrow but dad won’t quit.

Dad reports:
Tommy getting really irritated at all the math he has to do. I feel for him. He’s done really well.

Dad reports:
Tommy is going out of his way to make this math homework difficult. He had written the formula for one problem, had the answer on the calculator and took 15 minutes humming before he wrote the answer down on the paper.

Dad reports:
Tommy is completely stimming. He is doing it at a manic rate as if he wants to see how fast he can excelerate his aggitation.

Dad reports:
Tommy is refusing to do his school work and has now turned on the mouth sounds and eye rolling.

Mom reports: Except for refusing to clean his room and the tent he created in it, Tommy is relaxed and happy today. Of course, we haven’t yet approached his unfinished assignments from last week.

Dad reports this morning:
Tommy received medicine about 7:15 and now lies in bed pondering.
