Dad reports:
Sarah and her friend posed too much of a challenge to Tommy and he rose from his brief nap to try to watch some more television. I asked him repeatedly to turn it off and he just sat there watching it and when I turned it off for him he groused that he “was not ignoring me” despite me explaining what “ignoring” is. He said “I don’t want to go to bed. The girls are going to bed.” But I think he is tired and needs his rest. Glasses confiscated.

Tired Tommy just put himself to bed.

YARDWORK!

Monday, June 7th, 2004

Dad reports:
I scored roughly 20 minutes of yardwork with Tommy! Granted I had to be out there motivating him but he downright helped! Complained the whole time about mosquitoes and itching and sweating and wanting to go it. On going in he yelled at me because I was putting my tools away and would not help him get the lawnmower up the hill (a task he can handle and does handle everytime he cuts the lower lot). He got over himself quickly and we enjoyed some dinner together.

Dad reports:
D&D cancelled tonight. Tommy not likely to take this well. Think I might let the three older kids do an adventure with me as DM.

Mom reports: Tommy stayed up all night reading and isn’t awake yet. I am torn between not getting him more books to encourage his doing other things and getting them so he is happy. Tonight is his night to play D&D with a peer.

Dad reports this morning:
Much evidence that Tommy stayed up most of the night reading. Made him get up 8:30ish for his medicine and he immediately went back to sleep. That’s fine. If he sleeps all day maybe he will have energy for tonight’s game. Perhaps the late medicine will coorespond to a later evening dose so that he doesn’t get too sleepy to play.
