Mom reports: Most children get to attend and have birthday parties. They go to visit friends and have friends over. Their childhood is full of little and big moments of pure joy. Tommy has every last little thing that could give happiness dangled in front of him like a carrot. He has to earn what the rest of the world is given. Today I was supposed to take Molly (our new puppy) to visit Tommy’s summer school class. Ignore the fact that Tommy is in summer school while his siblings have camp and fun with friends. Tommy was too excited to work today so the teacher called to cancel the puppy visit as I was loading the car. My heart breaks for Tommy. He has so few treats and this was a small thing that made him very happy. Tommy deserves a trip to Disneyworld for all the injustice and cruelty that is dumped on him. I feel terrible right now.

Wednesday, July 21st, 2004Dad reports this morning:
Tommy is lying bed trying to decide if he will get up.
If I go in to prod him along there will be agruing (at least that was the way it was prior to the effexor). If I ignore him he is likely to come out on his own. Time is against us as I can only ignore him so long before he risks missing the bus.
