Dungeons and Dragons

Dad reports:
Tommy and I joined his friend for Dungeons and Dragons. He had a very successful evening only once trying to look into his friend’s room to aggrivate him. The adventure fun. The behavior very well. If Tommy does well in school tomorrow we can continue.

Dad reports this morning:
Tommy woke a little crabby as expected. Last night, he and I joined his grandparents for the University of Tennessee (UT) vs University of Las Vegas (UNLV) football game. He did exceptionally well the entire game! He gave out at the beginning of the third quarter but struggled through to the end with decent grace. No rudeness!

After the game we walked back to the card and stepped into a gas station to use the restroom and get drinks. Tommy wanted to wander around and I felt there were too many drunks about (didn’t want him mouthing off and getting assualted; I don’t think anyone could kidnap him to save their life) so I asked Tommy to stay with us. He wanted to go shop for a Gatoraid (I should have let him and just stayed by him) but we asked him to stay with us as we stood in line for the toilets. He became indignant. At one point a lady politely asked, “Are you waiting in line?” Tommy absolutely barked at her, “I’m not waiting for nuthin’.” In the car he proceeded to yell at the top of his lungs at his grandfather.

Back to this morning, I turned the television off because Tommy barked at his brother. His brother decided to go play at a friend’s house. Tommy groused at me and returned to his room. Now he is back and trying hard to play nice.
