Likes school better than home

Dad reports:
Tommy apparently had a pretty decent day at school yesterday with the exception of his math class where he is being disrepectful and non-compliant. He doesn’t like math. He gets on the computers and won’t get off when told and speaks to the teacher quite in appropriately. He will end up with an afterschool detention this week and we support that.

Tommy came home yesterday to an empty house. An emergency trip to the pediatrician had us arriving home late. The front door was locked but apparently I had not closed it all the way. As we were racing home Tommy called to explain that he was home and bark “where are you?” He then went on to say “I think that not closing the door all the way could have the wind blow the door open and the dog could escape. Why not close the door all the way and leave it unlocked? I think it’s stupid to lock the door and..” at which point I hung on him. When Tommy called, just before the above dialog, we were relieved he was inside and explained we had some errands to run. Tommy’s afternoon routine was wrecked!

Since he couldn’t garner our attention all afternoon when we got home he whined and cried and yelled at anything and everything.

This morning he is still whining and crying and yelling.
