In 2004, against the wishes of my wife, I started off every day with a reference to Paypal. Both the anti-breeders and Juliet Pain have called me out on it. I explained the paypal links here. I put the Paypal references up against the better judgment of my wife. They were tacky. They don’t show up in current posts and hopefully over time will disappear from the archives.
Plenty of sites have PayPal donation links for no apparent reason what-so-ever.
So you asked for donations from those that are so inclined to do so. So what?
“Pushing” request may be a bit tacky, but for those that think so… either they don’t donate, or they stop reading. The end.
There really is nothing to apologize for. (In my not so humble opinion anyway).
Doug, I use PayPal donate on one of my sites some of the time and no objection to PayPal links at all – running websites costs money. Just was questioning the taste of your linking of it to your boy’s special needs, that’s all.
